Miami, FL – August 11, 2016 – Newlink, an internationally recognized communications consulting firm, was honored with three Stevie® Awards during the 13th Annual International Business Awards in the following categories:
Marketing Campaign of the Year – Healthcare – Disease Education & Awareness
• Gold Stevie® Award for Novartis’ Any One, Any Lung Latin American Campaign. Focused on creating awareness around lung cancer and debunking the common misconception that you have to be a smoker in order to be diagnosed with the disease. The entry was acclaimed by Stevie® Award judges for its ability to “really awaken recognition of lung cancer.”
Viral Marketing Campaign of the Year
• Silver Stevie® Award for FOX’s The X-File’s series premier in Colombia. The campaign consisted of an innovative publicity strategy to promote the launch of “The X-Files” series in Colombia. The company coordinated for five sky drones to simulate Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) in the capital city of Bogota. Influencers generated content on social media with the hashtag #LucesExtrañasBogota (Spanish for #StrangeLightsBogota) to create a buzz. Within 10 minutes, the hashtag was trending on Twitter and in 20 minutes the story made national news. 22 hours later, the marketing stunt was revealed through an exclusive interview in one of the largest radio shows in the country, effectively announcing the ties to FOX and the launch of The X-Files. The activation reached more than 27 million individuals. Stevie® Award judges were also impressed, stating that the campaign was a “cleverly conceived promotion which captured people’s imagination and delivered real value for money.”
Marketing Campaign of the Year – Travel/Tourism/Destination
• Silver Stevie® Award for The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic’s Virtual Reality Campaign. Newlink launched a pan-regional communications and marketing campaign in 2015 in several Latin American countries, promoting the destination through two 360-degree virtual reality videos featuring ecotourism and adventure options within the destination. This bold and innovative strategy wowed the judges, who said it was a “great idea and perfect use of new communication tools.”
“Recognition by the International Business Awards™ is a testament to the results-oriented innovation, global impact and dedication that Newlink consistently delivers for our valued clients,” said Sergio Roitberg, CEO of Newlink. “I commend the several areas of expertise who created envelope-pushing campaigns based on purpose-driven strategies to ignite transformation.
