Travel Snapshot: Insights for the Hospitality Industry in the U.S.

The Social Marketing team recently looked into the impact of social platforms on the tourism industry.

We polled 110 people to collect qualitative insights about their travel preferences and the role that social media plays in travel planning and purchases.

Not surprisingly, our research revealed that platforms like Trip Advisor and Facebook are the top resources for travel information, edging out traditional platforms like magazines and travel agents by a significant margin. These customers also rely on social media for much more than the initial “discovery”. They are actively using social platforms at each stage of their vacation planning, all the way to the final booking.
