LATAM Airlines Group S.A. es el resultado de la fusión de LAN y TAM, sus filiales y empresas de carga, convirtiéndose así en una de las aerolíneas más grandes del mundo en términos de conexiones de red, una flota de mas de 300 aviones y aproximadamente 53,000 empleados.
La fusión de LAN y TAM en el 2012 generó la necesidad de comunicar a varias audiencias los cambios y beneficios de la integración, reteniendo a los clientes de cada aerolínea durante la evolución de programas de fidelidad de la compañía y la incorporación al OneWorld Alliance.
El impacto de esta unión y la incertidumbre sobre el futuro de ambas aerolíneas fue un tema recurrente que se ha abordado de diferentes maneras.
Transformación
Para alcanzar los objetivos establecidos y generar el posicionamiento deseado para este nuevo líder en la industria de la aviación, Newlink ha trabajado de la mano con el equipo de Comunicaciones Corporativas de LATAM Airlines Group desde el año 2013 para desarrollar un programa de relación con medios y otras herramientas de comunicaciones eficaces para los nueve mercados asignados. Así como la aerolínea ha integrado redes, procesos y ofertas, Newlink ha reflejado esta integración en el área de comunicaciones, alineando nueve mercados para permear un mensaje coherente y preciso.
Newlink ha generado cobertura continua para la aerolínea en las publicaciones mas destacadas en los sectores de Negocios, Aviación, Viajes y prensa en general en los 9 mercados.
En el 2016, Newlink reportó un valor de relaciones públicas de más de 155 millones de dólares en cobertura y más de 4 billones de impresiones globales.
Además de la realización de una labor de comunicación integrada a nivel global a través de los años, Newlink ha apoyado a LATAM Airlines a solidificar las relaciones con los miembros de la industria y la colaboración con la comunidad diplomática de los mercados donde operan.
El Equipo
El equipo de la Práctica de Turismo de Newlink basado en Miami, Florida, sirve como el hub de los esfuerzos de comunicaciones globales de LATAM Airlines. El equipo supervisa y coordina la alineación de actividades en nueve mercados. Cada mercado cuenta con miembros de equipo adicionales quienes apoyan la ejecución local y se reportan directamente al hub generando así una red colaborativa en la que se integran el cliente y el personal de agencia a nivel local.
